Hiking The Washburn Lake Solitude Area

Southwest of Grand Rapids and north of Outing, the Washburn Lake Solitude Area has a 20+ mile trail system open to hiking. The hiking trail system consists of numerous loops winding through rolling hills and small ponds.

To reach the trailhead from Outing, head north on SR6. Turn left heading west on CR48 for 1 mile to trailhead parking. There are loop trails on both sides of CR48.

Overall, Washburn Lake Solitude Area is the 20th most popular hiking trail of all 31 hikes in Minnesota.
