Hiking The Trout Valley

The 22nd most popular hiking trail in Minnesota.

Northwest of Winona and southeast of Red Wing in the Richard J Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest, the 2,400 acre Trout Valley Management Unit has a 7 mile multi-use trail. The multi-use trail is open to hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding, dirt biking and horseback riding.

To reach the trailhead from Winona, head northwest on US61. Turn left heading south on CR29 for 2.3 miles. Turn left on access road to trailhead.

Overall, Trout Valley is the 22nd most popular hiking trail of all 31 hikes in Minnesota. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Trout Valley including Hay Creek Trails, Snake Creek and Zumbro Bottoms.
