In Wabasha County in the Richard J Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest, the 3,000 acre Snake Creek Management Unit has a 5 mile loop.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Red Wing, head southeast on US61. About 4.5 miles past Kellogg, turn right into Snake Creek. Veer right to reach the non-motorized trailhead.

Overall, Snake Creek is the 17th most popular hiking trail of all 31 hikes in Minnesota. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Snake Creek including Hay Creek Trails, Trout Valley and Zumbro Bottoms.
