Hiking The Pine Ridge / Sykes Hot Springs Trail

The 62nd most popular hiking trail in California.

East of Big Sur in the Los Padres National Forest, the Pine Ridge Trail is a rugged hiking route in the 216,000 acre Ventana Wilderness Area and provides access to the Sykes Hot Springs. This east-west route begins in the west at the Big Sur Guard Station and runs east to China Camp. It is a central backbone trail that provides access to numerous other north-south trails. There are several nice camp spots along this 20 mile route, including Terrace Creek Camp, Sykes Hot Springs Camp, Pine Valley Camp and finally China Camp.

The Pine Ridge Trail starts from the Big Sur Guard Station south of Big Sur on SR1.
