Northeast of Tucson, the Samaniego Ridge Trail (#7) is a 8.9 mile route. The hiking trail begins off the south side of FS736 just south of Charouleau Gap and heads south to Canada del Oro Trail (#4).

Overall, Samaniego Ridge Trail is the 45th most popular hiking trail of all 49 hikes in Arizona. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Samaniego Ridge Trail including Starr Pass Trail, Oracle Ridge, Catalina State Park and Hugh Norris Trail.
