Northeast of Houston, the 4,900 acre Lake Houston State Park has 12 miles of trails.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Houston, head north on US59 to the New Caney exit. Proceed east on FM1485 for 2 miles. Turn south on Baptist Encampment Road for 1.5 miles.

Overall, Lake Houston State Park is the 27th most popular hiking trail of all 32 hikes in Texas.
