Hiking The Foothills Parkway

South of Cosby, the Foothills Parkway is a 36 mile route open to hiking.

Foothills Parkway East is a six-mile road leading from Cosby, TN to Interstate 40. Its eastern terminus is TN exit 443. Built on Green Mountain, the road provides wonderful views of Cosby Valley to the south and the Newport area to the north.

The trailhead is located south of Cosby. It is 0.2 miles south of the intersection of SR 339 and US 321.

Overall, Foothills Parkway is the 16th most popular hiking trail of all 24 hikes in Tennessee. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Foothills Parkway including Wolf Ridge Trail, Balsam Mountain Trail, Deep Creek Trail, Cooper Road Trail, Lakeshore Trail and Welch Ridge Trail.
