Southwest of Encampment in the Medicine Bow National Forest, the Pipeline Trailhead provides hiking access to the Continental Divide Trail passing thru the Huston Park Wilderness Area. A nice section is the 13.9 mile route north to Red Mountain.

To reach the hiking trailhead, travel west of Encampment on Wyoming Highway 70 for 6 miles, turn onto National Forest System Road (NFSR) 550 and drive for approximately 21 miles. Turn onto NFSR 809 and travel northwest for one mile; the trailhead is located at this point on the right hand side of the road.

Overall, Pipeline Trailhead is the 16th most popular hiking trail of all 18 hikes in Wyoming. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Pipeline Trailhead including Encampment River Trail, Red Mountain / Pipeline Trail, Snowy Range Network and Divide Peak Trail.
