Hiking The Breakheart Reservation

North of Boston and east of Wakefield in Saugus, the Breakheart Reservation has 5 plus miles of multi-purpose trails. The hiking trails include a 3 mile rolling paved loop with numerous side trails.

There are two trailheads. The eastern trailhead is south of Lynnfield off US1. The western trailhead is southeast of Wakefield Center off Water Street.

Overall, Breakheart Reservation is the 34th most popular hiking trail of all 36 hikes in Massachusetts. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Breakheart Reservation including Myles Standish State Forest, Wompatuck State Park, Willowdale State Forest, Bay Circuit, F.
