Northeast of Boise and Idaho City in the Boise National Forest, the Black Warrior Trail is a 9 mile route open to hiking.

To reach the trailhead from Atlanta, head west on Middle Fork Road for 10 miles. Turn north on FS210 to the trailhead.

Overall, Black Warrior Trail is the 19th most popular hiking trail of all 19 hikes in Idaho. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Black Warrior Trail including West Mountain / Joes Creek, Airline Trail / Onion Valley Trail, Hungarian Ridge Trail, Trail Creek Trail, Hot Creek Trail and Swanholm - Warrior Trail.
