On Maui, the Hoapili Trail, also known as the Kings Trail, is a challenging 6 mile hiking trek along the southern coastline through lava fields.

The trailhead is located at the end of Makena Road. There is a white sign showing the start of the trail.

Overall, Hoapili Trail is the 41st most popular hiking trail of all 45 hikes in Hawaii. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Hoapili Trail including Sliding Sands, Mamane Trail, Piilani Trail, Kaupo Gap Trail, Hana-Waianapanapa Coast Trail and Pipiwai TrailPolipoli Loop.
