Hiking The Issaqueena Lake

North of Clemson in the Clemson University Experimental Forest, the Issaqueena Lake Trail (8 mi. one-way) is a flat hiking trail through the 17,500 acre Clemson University Experimental Forest. The Issaqueena Lake Trail is primarily used by mountain bikers, but it is also open to hiking and horseback riding. The route meanders around the lake providing beautiful views.

To reach the trailhead from Clemson, follow SR133 north for 3.6 miles and then head northwest on Old Six Mile Highway. Shortly, turn right onto Issaqueena Main Road and park at the Indian Springs Recreation Area on the left.

Overall, Issaqueena Lake is the 15th most popular hiking trail of all 16 hikes in South Carolina.
