Hiking The Vernooy Kill Falls Trail

Located outside Kerhonkson, the Vernooy Kill Falls Trail is a 10 mile hiking loop along a premier trout stream. The route is mainly used by mountain bikers, but it is also open to hiking and horseback riding.
To reach the trailhead, follow SR209 south to Kerhonkson. Head west on Sampsonville Road and veer left onto Lower Cherry Town Road. Park in area near state trail marker.
Overall, Vernooy Kill Falls Trail is the 47th most popular hiking trail of all 49 hikes in New York. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Vernooy Kill Falls Trail including Escarpment Trail, Burroughs Range Trail, Long Path, Willowemoc Wild Forest and Bear Springs Mountain Trails.
