Hiking The East Inlet Trail / Adam Falls Trail

Northwest of Boulder and southeast of Grand Lake, the East Inlet Trail is a 6 mile one-way route climbin up into the mountains past numerous alpine lakes. Close to the trailhead, there is a popular falls called Adams Falls. This trail is open to hiking and horseback riding.

To reach the East Inlet Trailhead from US34, head east on SR278 (aka West Portal Road) into Grand Lake. Continue east on West Portal Road for a total of 2.5 miles to the trailhead parking area on the east end of Grand Lake.

While the main trail goes about 6 miles to Spirit Lake, there is an additional 1.5 miles of trail that continues up to Fourth Lake that is less frequently traveled.

Overall, East Inlet Trail / Adam Falls Trail is the 60th most popular hiking trail of all 72 hikes in Colorado. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby East Inlet Trail / Adam Falls Trail including North Inlet Trail / Tonahuta Creek Trail, Longs Peak and Glacier Creek Trail.
