East of Crescent City in the Redwood National Park, the Mill Creek Trail is a 5 mile round trip hike through old growth redwoods along the namesake stream.
To reach the trailhead from Crescent City, head east up Howland Hill Road for 7 miles. The trail starts out in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
Overall, Mill Creek Trail is the 87th most popular hiking trail of all 88 hikes in California. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Mill Creek Trail including Lost Man Creek / Holter Ridge Trail, Coastal Trail, Damnation Creek Trail, Little Bald Hills Trail and James Irvine Trail.
