East of Innsbruck, the Zillertal Rucksack Route is a 50 mile loop traversing alpine passes and lush valleysbin these glaciated Alps. This well-marked, nine day hiking trek makes use of well-placed huts. Most people begin in the town of Mayrhofen, travel clockwise, and end in Ginzling.

To reach this area from Innsbruck, head east on E60/A12. Turn south on Route169 through Fugen into the Zillertal Valley.

Overall, Zillertal Rucksack Route is the 14th most popular hiking trail of all 15 hikes in Austria.
