The 105 mile Tour du Mt Blanc is an epic adventure looping through three countries while crossing seven high alpine passes. The route has amazing scenery centered about the 15,770 foot Mt Blanc but including glaciated peaks and lush valleys below. The well-trodden route is blazed with yellow-diamonds marked TMB.
While camping is permitted near the huts, there is still a fee. The better bet is to plan on the €50 per day food and lodging budget to stay in the huts, which can be found about every 10 miles. The circuit typically starts in Les Houches and is best hiked counter- clockwise. A good time of year is early September after the Euopean high season ends. You will want to bring a sleeping bag and footwear for inside the huts.
