Snowy Range Network Hiking

West of Laramie and Centennial in the Medicine Bow National Forest, the Snowy Range has an excellent network of hiking trails that pass numerous alpine lakes. The trails are typically at higher elevations ranging from 7,000 to 11,000 feet.

Trail Descriptions:

#8 - North Fork Trail is a 5 mile route at 9,900 feet with a 1,300 feet of vertical gain (difficult).

#10 - Sheep Lake Trail is a 7.8 mile route from 10,600 feeet with a 1,300 feet of vertical gain ( moderate).

#15 - Lost Glacier Lakes Trail is a 1.8 mile route from 10,800 feet with 200 feet of vertical gain (moderate).

#16 - North Gap Trail is a 2.3 mile route from 11,000 feet with 700 feet of vertical gain (difficult).

#17 - Shelf Lakes Trail is a 1.1 mile route from 10,950 feet with 120 feet of vertical gain (moderate).

#18 - Deep Lake Trail is a 1.7 mile route from 10,500 feet with 200 feet of vertical gain ( moderate).

#19 - Quealy Lake Trail is a 4.1 mile route from 10,500 feet with 200 feet of vertical gain (moderate).

#20 - Vagner Lake Trail is a 0.5 mile route from 10,500 feet with 100 feet of vertical gain (moderate).

#21 - Lakes Trail is a 1.7 mile route from 10,700 feet with 700 feet of vertical gain (easy).

#22 - Medicine Bow Peak is a 5.3 mile route from 11,200 feet with 1,600 feet of vertical gain (difficult).

#23 - Dipper Lake Trail is a 3.4 mile route from 10,800 feet with 1,400 feet of vertical gain (difficult).

#24 - Heart Lake Trail is a 0.3 mile route.

#26 - Tipple Trail is a 4 mile route from 10,500 feet with 440 feet of vertical gain (moderate).

#28 - French Canyon Creek Trail is a 5.3 mile route from 9,580 feet with 1,520 feet of vertical gain (moderate).
