Near Canberra in the Majura Pine Forest, the Mt. Majura area is renowned for the best trails on the continent. One of the better hikes is the ascent of Mt. Majura which leads to a steep descent.

To reach the trailhead from Canberra, head northeast to the suburb of Hackett. Off Mackenezie street, follow the fire road towards the water tower. Near the water tower, veer to the right and cross the cattle guard at the top along the ridge-line. From here, either enter the trail through the pine plantation straight ahead for a 15km route or turn left and climb Mt. Majura for a 5km loop.

Overall, Mt. Majura Climb is the 6th most popular hiking trail of all 16 hikes in Australia.
