Southwest of Salzburg, this area has over 70 miles of forested track maintained from serious hikers. The quiet Tyrolean town of St. Johann is picturesque with the outline of Kitzbuhlerhorn forming part of the valley. Its just around the horn from the trail system in Kitzbuhel, as well.

To reach this area from Salzburg, follow Route 215 west through Germany. Near Lofer, head west on Route 704 and then head southwest on Route 312 to St. Johann.

Overall, St. Johann in Tirol is the 5th most popular hiking trail of all 15 hikes in Austria.
