Near Valley of Five Lakes south of Jasper, the Maligne Canyon Trail (#7) runs from the Valley of Five Lakes up to Maligne Canyon. To reach the trailhead from Valley of Five Lakes, head south on SR93 (a.k.a. Jasper-Banaff Highway) and watch for trailhead parking area.

While in Jasper National Park, also check out local cross country ski trails open to hiking and Miette Hot Springs (800) 767-1611.

Overall, Maligne Canyon Trail is the 1st most popular hiking trail of all 11 hikes in Alberta.
