Northwest of Christchurch and south of Westport on the west coast, the Paparoa National Park has a variety of hiking opportunities. Luxuriant coastal forest, limestone cliffs and canyons, caves and underground streams, and an absolutely spectacular coastline, are all packed into one national park.
Paparoa National Park is located in the northern part of the South Islands West Coast, alongside State Highway 6, between the towns of Westport and Greymouth.
Overall, Paparoa National Park is the 2nd most popular hiking trail of all 15 hikes in New Zealand.
