Barranco Ferrer is shrouded within the Alpujarran foothills of Granada, just 7km from the Mediterranean coast. The hiking trails leave from Barranco Ferrer on old mule tracks through pine and cork forests crossing streams and river beds. The nearby Veleta Peak (3,470 m) is a particular challenge.
