Hiking The Lake Narvak

The 14th most popular hiking trail in Alaska.

Far north of Fairbanks off the Dalton Highway (SR11) near Coldfoot, the 8.5 million acre Gates Of The Arctic National Park is a roadless-trailless expanse of Alaskan wilderness. With no marked hiking trails, orientation skills are a must -- be ready for Arctic river crossings, too! Still game? This is also grizzly country and the misquitos are fierce. Roads are treacherous so bring TWO spares.

Check out the cool Lake Narvak cabins providing a gateway to custom expeditions. Accessed from Fairbanks by air charter for $1700 per three person roundtrip.

Overall, Lake Narvak is the 14th most popular hiking trail of all 54 hikes in Alaska.
