Located northwest of LA in the Santa Monica Mountains, the Malibu Creek State Park is a lush hiking haven remotely tucked away from the big city. It would take a full day and lots of energy to check out all of the riding options from trails to dirt roads. An easy starter is old Crags Road which leads up to the old M.A.S.H. filming location. A more challenging trek isalong the Backbone Trail. The MCSP is on Malibu Canyon Road (a.k.a. Las Virgines Road) about 6 miles north out of Malibu. It can also be reached from the Las Virgines Road exit of US101 by heading 3 miles south.

Overall, Malibu Creek State Park is the 1st most popular hiking trail of all 88 hikes in California. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Malibu Creek State Park including Point Mugu State Park and Topanga State Park.
