Southwest of Natchitoches in the Kisatchie National Forest, the Caroline Dorman Trail is a 13 mile hiking route traverses the rugged terrain of the Kisatchie National Forest. The route is shared by hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders.

To reach the trailhead from US49, take the Derry exit (exit 119) and turn south on Louisiana 119. Drive 5.5 miles on LA Hwy 119 to Forest Highway 59 (Longleaf Scenic Byway). Turn right (west) onto FH 59 and go 3.2 miles to the recreation junction, a signed location.

Overall, Dorman Trail is the 5th most popular hiking trail of all 6 hikes in Louisiana.
