Hiking The Prentice Cooper Wildlife Management Area

North of Chattanooga, the Prentice Cooper Wildlife Management Area has 80 miles of trails and roads open to hiking. Since this area is very popular with hunters and ATV riders, keep an eye out for these forest users.

To reach the trailhead coming from the north on US24, use Exit #155. Head northeast on SR28 towards Whitwell for 11.1 miles. Turn right heading south on SR283 for 2.5 miles. Continue south on SR27 for 6 miles. Turn right heading west on Robin Drive (unsigned) for 0.3 miles (staying right). Turn left heading southwest on Game Reserve Road (unsigned) for 0.3 miles.

Overall, Prentice Cooper Wildlife Management Area is the 10th most popular hiking trail of all 24 hikes in Tennessee.
