Hiking The Little Hole Trail

The 6th most popular hiking trail in Utah.

Northeast of Vernal and east of Manila in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, the Little Hole Trail is a 7 mile one-way route along the north side of the Green River. This is a gentle scenic walk with good wildlife viewing.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Dutch John on US191, head east on FS75 for 7 miles to Little Hole. From the parking area, the trail runs west on the north side of the river.

Overall, Little Hole Trail is the 6th most popular hiking trail of all 38 hikes in Utah. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Little Hole Trail including Elk Park Loop Trail, Swett Ranch Loop and Dowd Mountain Loop Trail.
