Hiking The Petes Hole / Josephite Point Trail

The 8th most popular hiking trail in Utah.

Southeast of Price, the Petes Hole / Josephite Point Trail is a 28 mile hiking route in the Manti-Lasal National Forest.

To reach the Pete Hole trailhead for the Josephite Point Trail from Orangeville, follow SR29 to Joes Valley Reservoir. At the west side of the reservoir, the road becomes dirt (difficult when wet). Continue another 8 miles to Petes Hole Road (FS005). Turn south on Petes Hole Road for 2 miles to Petes Hole. The hiking trailhead is on the southeast side of this reservoir.

The Josephite Point Trail section is relatively flat and traverses Josephite Point Bench for 7.5 miles at 9,000 ft.

Overall, Petes Hole / Josephite Point Trail is the 8th most popular hiking trail of all 38 hikes in Utah.
