East of Ithaca and west of Dryden, the Hammond Hill State Forest has 11 miles of marked horseback riding trails. The white-blazed Finger Lake Trail crosses the forest.
East of Seneca Lake and Burdett, the Interloken Trail is a 12 mile route open to horseback riding on a limited basis. The Interloken Trail traverses the Forest north to south and is a branch of the Finger Lakes Trail system. It passes through various terrain and vegetation. The southern portions are somewhat steeper and more forested, while the northern portions are flatter and more open through some pastures.
