Southeast of El Paso and north of Fort Davis, the 2,710 acre Davis Mountains State Park has 14.5 miles of trails open to hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

Directions: The park is reached by traveling 1 mile north of Fort Davis on State Highway 17 to State Highway 118N, then west on State Highway 118N for 3 miles to Park Road 3 entrance.

Overall, Davis Mountains State Park is the 12th most popular horse trail of all 22 horseback rides in Texas. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Davis Mountains State Park including Franklin Mountains State Park and Dog Canyon.
