East of El Paso, the Franklin Mountains State Park has 22 miles of trails. This is the longest mountain range in the state with a ridge about 7,000. Note: no water or fires.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from El Paso, head west on US10 to the Canutillo exit. Head east on SR375 for 3.8 miles to the trailhead.

Overall, Franklin Mountains State Park is the 16th most popular horse trail of all 22 horseback rides in Texas. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Franklin Mountains State Park including Davis Mountains State Park and Dog Canyon.
