South of Amarillo and east of Canyon, the 16,000 acre Palo Duro Canyon State Park has 10 miles of rolling trails with great views of red rock canyons. To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Amarillo, head south on US27 to Canyon. Proceed east on SR217 for 8 miles into the park.

Overall, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is the 7th most popular horse trail of all 22 horseback rides in Texas.
