Near Creede, the Weminuche Creek Trail is a full-day ride. It starts with steep switchbacks, but the levels out and follows a scenic creek. The horseback route starts at NFS 30-Mile Campground, as does the Squaw Lake Trail.

To reach NFS 30-Mile Campground from SR149, follow FS520 for 10 miles to the stock area about a 0.5 miles before the campground.
