Near Creede, the Squaw Lake Trail is a full-day ride. It leads to Squaw Lake with amazing scenery along the way. The horseback riding route starts from NFS 30-Mile Campground, as does the Weminuche Creek Trail.

To reach NFS 30-Mile Campground from SR149, follow FS520 for 10 miles to the stock area about a 0.5 miles before the campground.
