West of Fort Collins near Bellvue, the Lory State Park has 7 miles of trails open to horses, including the Shoreline Trail, Valley Trail and the Mill Creek Link. To reach the park from Fort Collins, follow Overland Trail Road north. Turn left onto Bingham Hill Road heading west for 2 miles. Turn left on RD23 into the park.

Overall, Lory State Park is the 18th most popular horse trail of all 66 horseback rides in Colorado. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Lory State Park including Poudre River Canyon, Flowers Trail, Pawnee Buttes Trail, Crosier Mountain Trail and Horsetooth Mountain Park.
