East of Carmel, the 4,500 Garland Regional Park has wonderful groomed trails, varying from long flat horseback riding loops to mountainous climbs and descents into redwood canyons.

The parks main entrance is located 8.6 miles east of Highway 1 on Carmel Valley Road. The park extends several miles east and south along Carmel Valley Road to Carmel Valley Village.

To reach the park from Carmel-By-The-Sea, go east on Carmel Valley Rd. for 8.5 miles to parking

Overall, Bridle Trails is the 27th most popular horse trail of all 81 horseback rides in California.
