West of Brule, the 41,000 acre Brule River State Forest has plenty of trails for horseback riding. The Afterhours Ski Trail is open to horseback riding in the summer.

To reach the trailhead from the intersection of US 2 and SR 27 in Brule, go west on US 2 for 1.2 miles. Turn left on Afterhours Rd. Parking is just up on the left.

Overall, Afterhours Trail is the 11th most popular horse trail of all 24 horseback rides in Wisconsin. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Afterhours Trail including Beaupre Springs Trail and Brule-St. Croix Trail.
