South of Sidney in the southwestern corner of the state, the Waubonsie State Park an eight mile horseback riding trail runs through the Loess Hills.

To reach the Equestrian Campground trailhead for horseback riding at Waubonsie State Park from Sidney, go south on US 275 for 4 miles. Go west on SR 2 and travel 1.7 miles. Turn right into the Equestrian Campground.

Overall, Waubonsie State Park is the 3rd most popular horse trail of all 6 horseback rides in Iowa.
