Southwest of Greenwood, the Long Cane Horse Trail is a 23 mile horseback riding loop through diverse terrain. The while-blazed route begins at the Fell Hunt Campground and runs through oak, hickory and pine forests.

To reach the trailhead from Greenwood, head southwest on SC10 for 7.7 miles. Turn right heading west on Route S 24-27 for 2.4 miles to trailhead on left.

Overall, Long Cane Horse Trail is the 5th most popular horse trail of all 11 horseback rides in South Carolina. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Long Cane Horse Trail including Rocky Gap Horse Trail, Buncombe Horse Trail, Whetstone Horse Camp and Willis Knob Horse Trail.
