Best Highland Forest County Park Horseback Riding

Southeast of Syracuse and east of Fabius in Onondaga County, the 2,700 acre Highland Forest County Park has over 20 miles of trails open to horseback riding. This area is known as the Adirondacks of Central New York with rugged forest terrain. Pre-registration is required to ride on park trails which is available by contacting either (315) 495-6263 or 683-5201.

To reach the park from Syracuse, follow US81 south to the Tully exit (Exit 14). Turn left heading through the town of Apulia. Look for Highland Forest County Park signs. The park is located 4 miles east of Fabius.

Overall, Highland Forest County Park is the 10th most popular horse trail of all 21 horseback rides in New York.
