McDowell Mountain Regional Park Horseback Riding

The 18th most popular equestrian trail in Arizona.

East of Phoenix near Fountain Hills, the 16 mile Pemberton Trail which is a classic ride in the 21,000 acre McDowell Mountain Regional Park of Maricopa County Parks. The loop starts from the horse staging area and follows blazes clockwise. A shorter loop is the 3 mile North Trail.

The park is 4 miles north of Fountain Hills. To reach the trailhead from Phoenix, follow SR57 north to Foothills Drive. Head north on North Foothills Blvd.

This area is very popular with mountain bikers, so consider going early on weekday mornings.
