West of Greenfield and Shelburne Falls., the 7,800 acre Kenneth Dubuque Memorial State Forest has 35 miles of horseback riding trails through rolling woods.

To reach the trailhead from Greenfield, head west on SR2 for 16 miles into Charlemont. Turn left heading south on SR8A. Park at the Forest HQ in Hawley.

Overall, Kenneth Dubuque State Forest is the 21st most popular horse trail of all 23 horseback rides in Massachusetts.
