North of Upton, the 2,600 Upton State Forest has miles of trails open to mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding trails through forest.

To reach the forest from the Mass Turnpike US90, exit at US495. Follow US495 south to Exit 21B Upton. Turn right off the ramp and proceed straight for 3.5 miles. Turn right on Westboro Road for 2 miles to forest entrance on the right.

Overall, Upton State Forest is the 12th most popular horse trail of all 23 horseback rides in Massachusetts.
