Ringwood State Park Horseback Riding

The 5th most popular equestrian trail in New Jersey.

Near Shepard Lake, the 4,300 acre Ringwood State Park has 22 miles of horseback riding on old forest roads shared with mountain bikers.

To reach the trailhead, follow US87 south and use exit 15A. Head north on SR17 and then west on SR72 (Sloatsburg Road). Continue past Ringwood Manor. Turn left on Morris Avenue toward Shepherd Lake. Turn in the park entrance. Use the parking area near the Skylands Manor House.

Overall, Ringwood State Park is the 5th most popular horse trail of all 19 horseback rides in New Jersey.
