Southeast of Buffalo and northeast of Portageville in Wyoming County, the Letchworth State Park has 70 miles of routes open to horseback riding. The horse trails pass through lush forest along the Genessee River gorge and pass three major waterfalls. A 21.5 mile section of the Finger Lakes Trail passes through the park as well.

Overall, Letchworth State Park is the 2nd most popular horse trail of all 21 horseback rides in New York. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Letchworth State Park including Allegany State Park, Erie Canal Heritage Trail and Bond Lake Park.
