Northwest of Sun Valley, the Adams Gulch Loop is a 10+ mile horseback riding route combining jeep road and trail with over a 1400 feet climb. Use caution since this route is very popular with mountain bikers.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Ketchum, head north on SR75 for about a mile. Turn left heading west on Adams Gulch Road. The trailhead parking area is just past the intersection with Old Mill Road. Continue west on Adams Gulch Road for 6 miles. While the doubletrack does continue west, turn right heading northeast on Adams Gulch Trail climbing up. Follow this trail to the east for 7 miles back to the trailhead.

Overall, Adams Gulch Loop is the 14th most popular horse trail of all 56 horseback rides in Idaho. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Adams Gulch Loop including Greenhorn Gulch / Imperial Gulch, Placer/Castle Creek Trail and Proctor Mountain Loop.
