Bull Mountain Trail Horseback Riding

Northwest of Dahlonega in the Chattahoochee National Forest, the Bull Mountain Trail is a 15 mile horseback riding loop with almost nine miles of trail through streams and rhododendron tunnels. To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Dahlongega, head west on SR52 for about 8 miles. Turn right heading north on Nimblewell Church Road for 2.3 miles. Turn right on FS28 heading north for 0.4 miles and then turn west on FS83 for 1.8 miles to trailhead.

From trailhead sign, head south on orange-blazed Bull Mountain Trail. At 4.5 miles, stay left on the Bare Hare Trail. After 4 more miles, stay left onto FS77A. Past another gate, turn right onto a rocky road. After 1.5 miles, turn right onto FS83 heading back to the car.

Overall, Bull Mountain Trail is the 3rd most popular horse trail of all 13 horseback rides in Georgia. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Bull Mountain Trail including Willis Knob Horse Trail, Fort Mountain State Park, Turner Creek Trail and Sumac Creek Trail.
