Near South Morehead in the Cave Run area of the Daniel Boone National Forest, the Buckskin Trail (#113) is 10 mile horseback riding route following the shoreline and connecting the Sheltowee Trace Trail to trails in the Pioneer Weapons Management Area (PWMA). The horseback riding trailhead is near the Zilpo Campground.

Directions: West of Morehead. From the intersection of US 60 and SR 211 in Salt Lick, go south on SR 211 for 3.6 miles. Turn left on Leatherwood Rd. and go 4 miles. Take a left on Buck Creek Rd. and go 2.8 miles. Turn right on Zilpo Camping Tower Trail Rd. and travel 4.5 miles. The trail is on the left. It is near the Zilpo Campground.

Overall, Buckskin Horse Trail is the 1st most popular horse trail of all 3 horseback rides in Kentucky.
