Near Cody in the Shoshone National Forest, the Elk Fork Trail is a 21 mile route open to horseback riding.
To reach the trailhead from Cody, WY, take US Rt. 14/16/20 west 27.1 miles to campground
sign. Turn left at sign into Elk Fork campground.
Overall, Elk Fork Trail is the 14th most popular horse trail of all 33 horseback rides in Wyoming. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Elk Fork Trail including Pahaska Sunlight Trail, Eagle Creek Trail, Bears Ears Trail, Glacier Trail, Middle Fork Trail and Fishhawk TrailCrandall Trail.
